After watching the video I think that the attitude of the two guides that Krakauer is referring to made something heroic. They could be alive, or as Krakauer said, they would definitely would be alive if they didn´t try to save their clients. He said that "it´s all part of the contract" but I think that they did it because they were great human beings.
After I watched this video, my opinion is not changed. I realized that the person who survive from Everest is a hero. However, I think he was a hero because he saved his life, and he challenged all difficulties that faced him. On the other hand, some people consider as a hero because they do tangible and moral things to the people that need. So, who you prefer ?
I did not change my opinion, those guide were doing their job and each of them had been received a lot of money for it, if they were in another position (just another adventurer), I´m pretty sure that they would try to save itself first and then, they could try to save another person.
I thinked that hero is the man who enduring danger and saving someone or homecountry. After I watched clip my opinion did not change. In my opinion Krakauer is just brave and challenging man because he endured danger for himself. However the guides who saved clambers and dead are heros. They willingly endured danger and saved people. The guides are quilified called hero.
After watching this clip my opinion has changed to different idea. people who were climbing in Everest mountin are not a true hero, because I thought that climbers are a good example for hero, but after I watched that I felt a person who helps poor people or lonely animal are a good example for hero why! In my point of view that I think no such thing worthy to climb the summit for the mountain.
My opinion of what a hero has not changed from watching this video. People who died and Krakauer are not heroes. The guide on this climb was getting paid to lead the climb and the climbers were doing something they enjoyed. They had to face challenges on the mountain because it was necessary. They had no choice. A hero is someone who is willing to face challenges. I think.
