In your opinion, which is better to read, a well-written novel in a genre you don't normally enjoy, or a novel that is poorly-written in a genre you like?

Normally when I have to choose a book to read, I rather choose one that is more related to the type of genre that I like. Even though I sometimes select a well written novel, which will improve my vocabulary and grammar, other times I pick other options because I am more interested in it. It is very important for me to enjoy the book while I am reading. This will contribute to the acquisition of knowledge about the topic I'm reading about. What I mean is that it will be more pleasant and easier to read something that you are really hooked on, instead of some genre that you dislike.
I choose a well-written novel even if that is genre I don't normally enjoy. I think well-written novel means that character is attractive, grammar is right and story is fun. Therefore, even if I choose a novel of genre I don't like, once I start to read it and that novel makes me enjoy because of well written.
I see what you mean, but I could not read a genre such as horror even though it is well-written. I think we should choose well-written novels in the genre that we like. In my opinion, it is a waste of time to read a book that you are not interested in; sometimes you have to read it because it is compulsory, but I rather choose a novel that I really want to read for leisure.
I know that there are some difference for the chosen of the type of book among different people, so if you really can enjoy it because of its well-written, it is great.
In my view, it is better to read a novel that is poorly-written in a genre you like. Because I think the genre of the novel is so important for me. I mean, even if the genre is well-written, I am still cannot enjoy the novel if I do not like its style of writing. I think reading is a pure thing, and we cannot just focus on what we can gain in the novel, such as the improvement of language skills. If we are interested in the novel, we can really enjoy the time and feel happy while reading.
I'm not agree with you, you totally negate the value of reading, we can get many knowledge in the book. Of course you need have a goal to read a book, such as you want to improve your writing skill or have some fun, well-written book can help you understand the main idea for the author.

I really want to make a choice for the book but it's so hard for me. Some people choice reading for improve their writing skill, the best way for them are choice a well-written novel in a genre you don't normally enjoy; however, if you really want to get some knowledge or make some fun from your reading you'd better choice a novel that is poorly-written in a genre you like. For my opinion, we just in the primary stage for English study, even though we choice a well-written novel, but it's content is too boring to read, we'll feel hard to persevere in it. So interesting may be the first factor to influence choice the book

Usually when I choose a book , I choose those that are relevant to the kind I like. But it is better to read a book with beautiful handwriting , this can help you to improve your vocabulary . The most important for me is to love the book and learn a lesson , whatever the genre.

Therefore I will choose a novel I enjoyed for free time. However I will choose a well-written novel sometimes, because I think even the well-written not interesting for me, but they have great grammar that will help me. So, even I like to read a novel that is poorly-written, I still will have a well-written novel to improve myself.

Just this book interest that will makes me enjoy. If I choose a well-written that I can't enjoy it, It will makes me fell boring. And I will use long time to read it. So compare with a well-written which I can't enjoy it, I will choose a poor-written that it can makes me happy to read.
