AI Why Should We Worry? Or Should We?
The author of Our Final Invention, James Barrat, claims we should be very worried about the consequences of attaining AGI and ASI. What is your response to his warning? For me, I don't think we need worry too much about ASI or AGI, I prefer to believe our scientist. I think scientist can fix it, if something happens. And I think his warning is necessary. First reason is because of these people, people knows more about technology and human life in future. Second reason is more people take care about this, they have much more different ideas, maybe can help scientist.
ReplyDeleteHi, Haoqing! I disagree with your opinion because I think nobody can predict human future with AI. Indeed, scientists have a lot knowledges about technology, but they sometime cannot control AI. Actually, AI made troubles such as Baby Q . If scientists can predict the future with AI, I guess they can prevent this case. Of course, I do not know what will happen in the future. That is why we should care about the future to manage some situations.
DeleteIn my opinion, we should start to learn about "Artificial Intelligence." It is important for us to have own opinions.Otherwise we follow other's opinion such as scientists, authors, experts unconsciously. Most general people do not know AI in detail, but they use AI everyday.In addition, AI already surrounds us. If we do not know AI, we cannot worry about human future with AI. I think nobody can predict human life with AI perfectly, however, we can know about AI.

I think everyone talk AGI and ASI and worry about these are all because we do not have AGI and ASI yet. Everyone predict these. We need study by ourself. Than we form our own idea.
DeleteHi Akane! I agree to your opinion and I think we should definitely study and learn about AI anyway. It's dangerous and so biased to just follow what scientists and professionals say and have no own opinion. If you have your idea towards AI and then you can learn and deepen it by talking with others and you can build understanding and it's good way to prepare yourself for what could happen in the future.
DeleteFor Barrat said about we need to worry for the problem which is the ASI will be came out. I think we need to worry about the ASI, because the ASI might be smarter than us and it might be have the free will. I think it will create more ASI by itself, and it won't care about the human happiness and save.

DeleteHi, Patrick. I do not think we need to worry about the ASI, although ASI will be smarter than us. First, scientist will be set something make sure human complete control ASI, even some dangerous happen, scientist also have idea. Second, I believe scientist will not let ASI get real "freedom", and if human nice to ASI, it would not be want freedom.
DeleteI believe that ASI and AGI are nor harful for us. We just need to care the way that we used, especially the ASI, because there are faster than us and can get all of our information easily.

DeleteI think we should not worry about AGI nor ASI to attack us and our world because firstly, machines would be made by humans, so there is no way for them to be out of human's control. It is like "If you could put your finger into a ring, then you can pull it off from your finger definitely. " If e could built them then we must be able to control and manage them.
